Snow Crash: Hiro Protagonist by cryoclaire Snow Crash: Hiro Protagonist by cryoclaire
HIROOO. Or at least, a Metaverse version of him. I wanted to go for an oldschool/retro look, but i think it just came out retarded >_>;; No, metaverse never looked like a bunch of pixels in my mind..but im sure it looked like it to people in 1992..8D

I want to read snow Crash so bad now. I heard from TV Tropes that it's really good. Also how I got here.

Hiro is possibly one of the coolest fictional characters ever created! You captured his attitude very well. There are some really great touches to this image, I like the way you have placed his name where you have and the 'buildings' in the back ground are really suited. The pixel ground changes the perspective a little, it makes it look like he could be standing at the top of stairs that are dropping away rather than a flat plain, which brings Hiro out of the surrounding environment. More like he is placed on top, rather than inside the setting. Though I quite like this effect, and it could well have been what you were after. A few adjustments to the very front of the pizel ground would enhance a sense of flat plain and create more realistic distance between the fore ground and the back drop.
^^attempting a critique hehe sorry
I must say I love this image, fabulous work :D

Wow, thanks for the detailed crit :) It's always really appreciated. This was drawn a while ago, and as far as I remember, I got bored of doing the background 8/ I think my attention span has slightly improved since then XD;

holy mother of all that is retro and epic, your art is amazing. Im not sure if you are doing this, but I am currently writing a story that I am also making it into somewhat of a comic as well. I would love to add your character into my story and if you are interested helping me draw and layout pages. You could even help with the story a bit if you wish but I pretty much have it all figured out more or less. I am just in the need for a better artist then me. Your style I feel would be perfect for my story. My character is called Retro, but he is also known as the Retro Samurai in the story. If you are interested in becoming my partner I would be honored. Please let me know if you wish to hear more about my story and characters.

Hi! Thanks for the offer, but I only accept paid work right now - I barely have time fore personal projects, let alone doing work for free :)
Also, that character doesn't actually belong to me, it's a fanart of an awesome character from Neal Stephenson's novel Snow Crash - I highly recommend it, especially if you're interested in cyberpunk :)
